Milestone after Milestone!

This past weekend I took some time to just reflect on how incredibly far my butterfly has come! Last year at this time, she was barely able to pull herself up.. we'd only been home for not even one month then... and now she's growing up so fast, I can't even keep up! It's unbelievable to hear her talking, singing, dancing and watch her running, jumping and often times acting like she's 5 instead of barely 2! Yesterday, I surprised her with a new 'tricycle' - she refers to as her 'bicycle' - and practiced pedaling with her for the first time. It was awesome, but did make me a little sad that she's truly no longer a baby!

We spent a really fun Mother's day, just the two of us, together. I was much too tired to pack up and head to G'mas so we just spent a quiet weekend at home, but did go down to the local community wine/art event both Sat (w/friends) and Sun. just us. After a great lunch and some yummy ice-cream (plenty of sugar to get her energy back up) DQ had a ball running around and dancing to the music on Sunday. The whole crowd was roaring and clapping at how cute she was as she showed them all her moves and what a rock'n roller looks like at age 2. I just let her go for the most part, but kept a very close eye on her as I tried to film some of it. Only got a couple of short clips since my battery died. I used it all up taking tons of earlier pics not realizing I would need it for the real show!

We've had a super busy past few months, hence the delay in posting...  in Feb, we celebrated her birthday with lots of family and friends, as well as CNY at community events.. in Mar, we finally switched her car seat to forward facing!! we put pigtails in her hair for the first time, we got out the squeaky shoes we got in China, that finally fit now!! we got to meet up with our special Thurs playgroup friends at a concert and sit on the Easter Bunny's lap!! Then we spent a week @ home trying to figure out the diagnosis for her cough/congestion - turned out to be bronchiolitis, which was NO fun... just when she was nearly better it was April and we were getting ready to go for an Easter egg hunt and had the "penny incident" REALLY NO fun, and we had a long lost friend visit (my ex - Benny, aka now as "Silly Uncle Benny") who's timing couldn't have been better as he helped with our time in the hospital, and took us home as well as made it a special Easter Sunday for us both! We had a visit from Auntie Cheryl and Kai-Kai to mark the one year anniversary of our time together, went to the FM zoo and got to pet the duckies, sheep and the deer's ears!! we had visits from family (she'd) never met before (Mark/Elaina) along with G'ma, auntie Dee-Dee and aunt Beth, we had a trip to the zoo and got to feed the giraffe's!! Got to meet her first celebrity (Lisa Loeb) and hear her play a new favorite song live - The Disappointing Pancake!! Now, it's May and we've already been to the park a few times, and just finished celebrating our second Mother's day! Whew! How much fun is this... SUPER FUN! :)
